A Great History. A Bright Present.

The Seattle Laser Fleet has been around since the very early days of the Laser sailboat. Seattle was, and is, an incubator of sorts when it comes to singlehanded racing. From the days when Carl Buchan and Mark Brink were dominant to today’s Hanne Weaver (and many others), Seattle Laser sailors have found their way to the top of the national rankings.

More recently, many of our sailors have transitioned to the RS Aero class, which established the first North American fleet. Sailors in both fleets have decided to work together moving forward, both to build our respective fleets and encourage junior sailing.

On the local level, we race throughout the year, both on salt water and fresh water. Within easy driving distance there are the Columbia River Gorge and English Bay in Vancouver, BC, and of course our neighbors to the north in Bellingham.
